How BFG Started

BFG (“Big Fish Golf”), founded by Mr Eric Ng, started as an independent clubfitter focusing on delivering a differentaited clubfitting experience compared to the usual off the rack purchases.

Working with major brands like Mitshubishi, Tour AD, Callaway, BFG was the early pionner using radar fitting for its customers.

BFG has worked closely with Aerotect Golf Shafts in promoting the Steelfiber shafts in the region. Co-developed together with Aeroetch Golf Shaft , BFG launch the Asia only Steelfiber J series which went on becoming the shaft used by the former LPGA World Number 1. With the development and launch of the Steelfiber H series, this shaft is the preferred shaft of the current LPGA world number 1 in from 2020 to 2022.

With a shift in the business strategy, Big Fish Leisure Sports Development Pte Ltd has took over the development of BFG and is also the exclusive distributor of all True Temper Products in China including Hong Kong and Macau and also distribute Iomic Grips in the region.

JOURNEY TO JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT

BFG junior development journey started in 2005 when a chance to visit a US Kids tournament held in Shenzhen revealed what golf equipment has to offer for junior players then. A club head with a sawed off hosel and lots of drilled holes on the sole/base, was a quick fixed for the child to use during the tournament.

This started a long journey for Mr Eric Ng and his shareholders to dedicate much of their time to searching for the development of better and suitable golf clubs for junior golfers. The intention was to develop products for the next generation of the game to be able to improve and compete better.

OFF THE STARTING BLOCK

In 2014, BFG created the first set of junior iron heads named TK 001. TK001 was used by a notable eight year-old junior golfer named “TK” Ratchanon Chantananuwat. It was one of the early full forged junior clubs. TK won the US Kids’ World Championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2022, Ratchanon Chantananuwat became the youngest amateur player to win in a major professional golf tournament held jointly by Asian Tour and Ladies European Tour (LET)

Besides Thailand, TK001 it is found in the bag of elite juniors in China, Finland, Malaysia, Mexico, India, Korea, Singapore, Spain, The Philippines, UK and the US.

Today, BFG is proud to present Nextwave, a dedicated line of golf equipment for junior golfers.

Utlising the experience and information gathered throughs years of working with junior golfes internationally, BFG launch the complete line of Nextwave products from woods to putters.

Finding the right-weighted shaft with the appropriate flex and torque, incorporating newer and beter materials, BFG is certainly fortunate to engage the support of manufacturers that has worked with major brands for the production of Nextwave.

With added adjustability, better launch, greater forgiveness and better variable weight configurations, this is key is not just allowing the junior competitors play with the better equipment, but also help the junior competitor to grow stronger faster with the well tuned equipment to match their swing improvement.
